Fall Seminar

The 2009 Fall Garden Workshop continued the year’s focus on vegetables. Attendees learned more about tomatoes, as Mindy Schwartz, the owner of Garden Dreams Urban Farm and Nursery in Wilkinsburg, focused on heirloom tomatoes. Nancy Heraud, Allegheny County herbalist discussed planting and using the herbs from your herbal kitchen garden. Jessica Walliser, well-known local gardening-book author and radio show host provided tips and techniques for growing a high-yield and beautiful vegetable garden with minimal fuss. Butler County Master Gardeners Eileen Stroup and Karen Schmidt talked about difficult-to-find, but great-to-grow favorite perennials.

Plans for the 2010 Fall Garden Workshop are underway. Check back here in August of 2010 for more details.
